You can pause your membership once every 12 months, for a period of up to 90 days. It’s a great way to take a break from payments without cancelling. At the end of this period, your plan will auto-renew until cancelled.

Notes:

• Annual memberships are not eligible for pause.
• When you pause your membership, any reduced price promotional period continues to run and is not extended.  Example: If you started a reduced price membership offer for 3 months and after 30 days you paused your membership for 2 months, you would be charged the full membership price when your membership resumed. The promotional period will have ended while your membership was paused.

Can I put my membership on pause?

To pause your membership, complete the following steps:

On the Audible website 

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Select your username from the site’s top navigation.
3. Select Account details from the drop-down menu.
4. Select the Pause membership link.
5. Select Pause membership to confirm.

In the app

1. Open the Audible app.
2. Go to your Profile.
3. Go to the Membership tab and select Manage.
4. Select Pause Membership.
5. Choose your pause duration (30, 60, or 90 days).
6. Confirm your selection.

Notes:

• Memberships billed through Google Play or the Apple App Store aren’t eligible for pause. You can manage your membership anytime through your Google Play or App Store settings.
• Customers on Annual Plans, rather than monthly, are not able to pause their memberships.

What happens when I pause my membership?

No matter what plan you have, pausing your membership will also pause your payments. You can resume or cancel your membership anytime.
Here’s what you can access during a pause:

Audible Standard

• You won't have access to titles you selected as monthly listens (they'll show a lock icon).
• You can continue to listen to any titles you've purchased with cash or credits.
• You can continue to access sales.
• You can purchase titles with cash or credits.
• You won't receive new monthly listens.
• You won’t have access to the podcast catalogue.

Audible Premium

• You can continue to use existing credits.
• You can continue to listen to any purchased titles.
• You can continue to access sales and enjoy your member discount.
• You can still buy credit bundles and participate in 2-for-1 deals.
• You won’t receive new credits.
• You won’t have access to the Plus Catalogue.

What happens to my monthly listen if I pause my Audible Standard membership?

If you're a Standard member, pausing affects your monthly audiobook benefit.

For memberships billed through Audible:

Your pause starts immediately. You can redeem your current monthly listen during the pause period, but once you add it to your Library, you won't be able to access it until you resume your membership or your pause period ends. The title will show a lock icon in your Library.

For memberships billed through the App Store or Google Play Store:

Your pause starts at your next billing date, giving you time to use your current monthly listen before the pause begins.

During your pause:

• You won't receive new monthly listens.
• Titles you've selected as monthly listens will be locked in your Library.
• You won’t have access to the podcast catalogue.
• You can still listen to any titles you've purchased with cash.
• You can purchase new titles with cash.

How often can I pause my Audible membership?

You can pause your monthly membership once every 12 months.

• This 12-month period begins the day your membership resumes. 
• You’re only eligible to pause after 30 days of paid membership.

When you resume, your payments will restart at your next billing period, and you'll regain access to all your membership benefits.

What happens if I cancel while my membership is paused?

If you cancel during the pause period, you won’t be billed, and you’ll have access to your member benefits until the end of your current billing period.
